In Genesis 16 we read about Hagar, an Egyptian slave impregnated
by her owner, Abraham, and abused by his wife, Sarah. She fled to the desert, where she
pleaded to die. But God was there, and he cared for her. She gave God the name El Roi, and said, “I have seen the God who sees me.”
Pray for the women and children whose lives are controlled by
others. Pray that in their desperation, they would see the God who sees them and is able to rescue them.
Pray that they would
know him by name, and that he would hear their cries and rescue them.
